Lewiston Mailbox Collection Use and Care instructions
With normal use and care the Lewiston mailbox system will last for many years. Please follow these
simple instructions to help your mailbox system last longer.
1) Periodic cleaning: At least once a year (more often for areas where acid rain, salt air or salt
spray from road surfaces is present), take a hose and hose off your mailbox with clear water.
Using a mild soap and water solution (such as designed for car paint finishes) gently wash the
mailbox system. You may use a soft cloth or soft bristled brush for stubborn spots. Hose entire
system off with your garden hose and let air dry. If you have hard water or scale, you should dry
the mailbox system with a soft towel.
2) Lubricate the bottom hinge rod with spray graphite or other non-oil based lubricant.
3) Check all screws, bolts and nuts to make sure they are tight.
4) If you have the solar light option, you should clean the lens area the same as above. Use caution
when cleaning the solar panels not to scratch them.
5) Lastly check magnet on door catch to make sure it is adjusted properly to keep door closed.
Adjust as necessary.
