Infrastructure Mode
To configure an Atheros AR5001 Wireless Network Adapter in infrastructure
mode:
1. Ensure that the “Locally Administered Address” checkbox is unchecked.
2. Enter information in the General dialog as summarized in Table 2-4.

Field Name Description
Configuration Name This field identifies the configuration. This
name must be unique. Configuration names
are case insensitive.
Network Name (SSID) This is the name of the IEEE 802.11a wireless
network, for example, “Atheros 802.11a
Wireless Network.” This field has a
maximum limit of 32 characters. If the field
is left blank, the STA connects to the AP with
the best signal strength.
Network Connection AP (infrastructure).
Power Savings This field allows the configuration of power
management options. The options are Off,
Normal, and Maximum.
Locally Administered Address (LAA) This field defines the locally administered
MAC address. To enter a value in the
address field, the check box needs to be
selected.
