Subject: User manual errata sheet for FCC ID J9CGSSDVM / IC: 2723A-GSSDVM
To whom it may concern,
The following information shall be provided to any manufactures integrating the GSP-1720 in a
host product. The information is required to address current FCC and Industry Canada user
manual requirements for the GSP-1720 data module. The user manual statements most also be
included with the end product to address interference considerations and RF exposure.
GSP-1720 Labeling Guidelines:
Device integrating the GSP-1720 must include an external label with the following two
statements:
Contains FCC ID J9CGSSDVM
Contains transmitter module IC: 2723A-GSSDVM
GSP-1720 RF Exposure Notice:
The GSP-1720 contains radio transmitters and uses non-ionizing radio frequencies (RF).
It works within regulatory radiation exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment. It
should be installed and operated in a configuration to maintain a minimum distance of 8
inches (20 cm) between the antenna and bystanders. Only antennas with less than or
equal to 6dBi peak antenna gain are permitted for use with the GSM-1720.
GSP-1720 Interference Statements
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following
two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device
must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired
operation.
The GSP-1720 has been tested to the limits for a Class B digital device, according to Part
15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference in a residential installation. The GSP-1720 generates, uses, and
radiates radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used according to instructions,
may cause harmful interference to radio communications or be interfered with. There is
no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation.
If the GSP-1720 does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which
can be determined by turning the GSP-1720 off and on, try to correct the interference by
taking one or more of the following actions:
Increase the distance between the GSP-1720 and radio or television receiver.
