INTRODUCTION: Thank you for purchasing the 6’ Multifunction Scaffold. This manual should be read and understood in its entirety, and used as part of a training program as required by OSHA or any applicable state regulatory agency. This and any other included instructions must be made available to the users of the equipment. The user must understand the proper equipment use and limitations. This product meets all applicable OSHA standards for Scaffolding Systems.
GENERAL SYSTEM SELECTION CRITERIA: Selection of fall protection shall be made by a Competent Person. All fall protection equipment shall be purchased new and unused. The equipment is designed for use as a part of a personal fall protection system. Components shall not be used for any other operation other than that which it has been designed and approved. Fall Protection Systems shall be designed to comply with OSHA or applicable state regulatory limitations. Systems must be used in a compliant manner.
RESCUE PLAN: The user is required to have a rescue plan and the means at hand to implement it when using the equipment. The plan shall be project specific. Employees shall be trained in self-rescue or alternate means shall be provided for prompt rescue in the event of a fall.
PRIOR TO EACH USE: • Users of FramePro Scaffolding must walk the area in which they will work, to remove any materials that may be in the way of the scaffold set up. • Particular care must be taken to note floor hazards such as construction debris, holes in the floor and other hazards. • FramePro Scaffolds must be used on solid flat surfaces. • Inspect the scaffold prior to use. (See Inspection Section Below) • All components must be complete, functioning properly and correctly assembled.
WARNINGS: Do not use this equipment if you are in poor health, taking medications, drugs, or drinking alcoholic beverages, all of which may impair your ability to work safely on this product. Do not mix platforms, casters, trusses, end frame access ladders or other components from other manufacturers with FramePro scaffolding. Component dimensions differ enough to be hazardous when mixed. Use only authorized FramePro parts and components.
APPLICABLE STANDARDS: Standards might include OSHA regulations depending on the type of work, and also might include state regulations. Standards also include ANSI Z359.1-2007. The Multifunction Scaffold, when installed properly with approved Guardrail Posts meet OSHA 29CFR-1910.23 & 1926.502 requirements for guardrail systems. • Exceeds top rail loading of 200 lbs. in any downward or outward direction. • Exceeds mid rail loading of 150 lbs. in any downward or outward direction.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Assembly of The FramePro 6’ Multifunction Scaffold 1. Invert an End Frame Access Ladder. Insert the casters into the ladder leg bushings, pressing the casters into the bushing by hand until the hole in the caster stem lines up with the hole in the scaffold ladder. Secure the casters using the provided clevis pins. Repeat this process for the second End Frame Access Ladder. 2. Turn the End Frame Access Ladder over so that it rests on its casters.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS continued: Stacking Scaffold Units Before units are to be stacked, a set of four (4 ) Outriggers with casters shall be installed on the base section of scaffolding. (OSHA 1910.29) The casters must be the same size as the casters in the base scaffold. If you are stacking two sections high, you may use Narrow Outriggers or Wide Outriggers. If you are stacking three sections high, you MUST use the Wide Outriggers. Assembly of Outriggers 1. Insert a caster into each Outrigger.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS continued: Assembly of the FramePro Scaffold Tower continued… 8. Install the platform securely within the platform ledges, locking it into place with the hold downs. 9. While moving from one platform to another, it is necessary to carefully step around the End Frame Access Ladder, to the outside of the ladder. Keep your body close to the ladder at all times during this move. 10. Repeat steps 4-9 if another section is to be stacked.
LABELS: All labels must be present and legible on the scaffold. INSPECTION LOG: USER MUST INSPECT EQUIPMENT BEFORE EACH USE. COMPETENT PERSON TO INSPECT AND INITIAL AT LEAST EVERY 6 MONTHS.
