3.2 Installing ActiveSync
PC PIC
Before you start synchronizing information with your PC, install ActiveSync on
your PC from the Xda Atom Companion CD included in your package. ActiveSync
is preinstalled in your phone and ready for use when the phone is delivered.
Please note
To install ActiveSync in your PC, please follow the instructions given when you
run the Companion CD.
Once your PC installs ActiveSync, you will be asked to build a partnership with
your Pocket PC Phone using one of the following connection methods:
z USB cable or cradle
z Infrared
z Bluetooth
3.3 Choose your connection type
3.3.1 USB cable or cradle
1. Your Pocket PC Phone is designed to connect with other devices via a
Mini-USB connector. This is a common cable type, and the baud and/or cable
type is set automatically. You can manually change the connection settings as
described below. The next time you connect your device to the PC, this new
setting will be used. Tap WF > Programs > ActiveSync.
2. Tap the Menu tab> Connections.
3. Select USB in the drop-down menus and activate Synchronize all PCs using
this connection feature.
3.3.2 Infrared connection
Your phone is designed to receive and exchange information and files with other
mobile devices via infrared wireless communication. If you want to use an IR
connection, make sure your PC is IrDA compliant; that is, your PC must have an
IR port. The types of data you can send or receive include graphics, images,
sound clips, videos, calendar notes and so on.
