Getting Started
Removing a SIM card
, Be careful not to pinch your fingertip between the cover lock and the cover.
While pressing down on the holder with your finger, slide it in the direction of arrow
until it clicks to unlock.
Gently open the holder in the direction of arrow and remove the SIM card.
Preparing the battery
, Using any battery pack or AC adapter not specified by NEC with this phone may be
dangerous and may invalidate any warranty and approval given to the phone. Do not
leave the charger connected to the power supply when it is not in use.
, Charging a very low battery
The battery’s charge continues to drop after the low battery warning is displayed. In
extreme cases where the battery is left uncharged for some considerable time after
this warning, a trickle charge is used to slowly top-up the battery to the safe level at
which the fast charging can begin. The phone can be in trickle charge for several
minutes before the fast charging starts. The phone cannot be turned on during
trickle charge.
Charging the battery
Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. The battery must be fully charged before
using your phone for the first time.
Insert the battery (p.10 “Changing the battery” ).
Connect the NEC battery charger supplied with
your phone to a suitable main power socket.
Connect the charger plug slowly and straight into
the connector with the USB symbol facing up.
Check that the battery icon becomes animated
on the LCD. Leave the phone charging until the
battery charge complete icon “ ” is
displayed to ensure that the battery is fully
charged
