Note: The EDID edit buffer commands are new with Release 2.3.0.
c. Save edits to EDID file to the generator by entering the following command:
DIDS // saves the edid
Testing EDID handling of source device
To use analyzer to test source device EDID handling:
1. Establish a session with the generator using either HyperTerminal over a serial
connection or Telnet over an Ethernet LAN. See “Establishing a terminal session with
the generatoron page 31 or Establishing a Telnet session with the generatoron page
34.
2. Select EDID to be used on the analyzer to test source device:
To use an EDID of a specific display device, perform steps described in
Capturing
and storing EDID from display device” on page 521. In that procedure, be sure to
perform step 6 to select the captured EDID structure to be used on the analyzer.
To use an EDID file stored on the generator, enter the following commands:
DIDL EDID filename
EDE<port>:DIDU
Where
port
is the HDMI input (Rx) port (1 or 2) that you want to configure to
emulate the EDID. For example, the command below loads the EDID stored in the
EDID edit buffer for emulation into the HDMI input (Rx) port 2.
EDE2:DIDU
Note: To create or modify an EDID structure, see “Creating or editing EDID contents
on page 522 for details.
3. If desired, use the STRG command to stretch the SCL low signal for 5 ms in the
analyzer’s receiver.
4. Connect the 882 HDMI input (Rx) port to the source device you wish to test.
Upon receiving the HDMI/DVI signal at the HDMI input connector, the generator sends
the EDID structure to the source device.
5. At the HDMI/DVI source device, compare the processed EDID information with the
EDID structure defined in the generator.
