Applying Bar Code Labels to Cartridges 2
A bar code label is the identification for the cartridge. Apply a bar
code label to all cartridges used in the library. When applying:
• Only use the bar code labels provided with the library.
• Apply the bar code label to the front face (see figure 10
).

To add a tape cartridge through the load port:
1 Verify that each cartridge has a bar code label.
Note: Enable the auto load option before performing this task
(see Enabling/Disabling the Auto Load Option
on
page 36).
Caution: DO NOT USE CompacTape I, CompacTape IIor
CompacTape IIIXT tape cartridges in this library.
Caution: Examine all cartridges before adding them to the
library. Look for label stock or foreign material that
may be clinging to the cartridges.
