LED Action Sequences

Encryption LED The encryption LED is blue and is off, on or flashing, as described in the
following table. The state of the other LEDs depends upon the activity,
as described below.
Ready is ON. The drive is ready for
operation.
None. This is normal.
Ready FLASHES. The drive is carrying out a
normal activity (read,
write, cleaning).
None.If the drive is upgrading firmware, do not
reset or power cycle it.
Clean FLASHES. The drive is ready for
cleaning.
Insert a new, good cleaning cartridge. The
cleaning cartridge will eject on completion. The
cleaning cycle can take up to 5 minutes to
complete.
Clean and Tape
FLASH.The cartridge
is ejected
automatically and

The cleaning cartridge has
expired (is used up).
Insert a new, good cleaning cartridge.
Tape FLASHES. The drive believes
hardware or media error
occurred.
In case of a hardware error, the drive requires a
reset (power off/on) to restart. In case of a media
error, replace the media to restart.
Drive FLASHES. The drive mechanism has
detected repetitive errors.
Power cycle or reset the drive and load a new
tape cartridge. If the Drive LED remains on, call
for service.
Drive FLASHES. There is a firmware
download problem.
Insert a cartridge to clear the LED sequence. If
the condition persists, call for service.
