Configuring the E3 Port
RICi-E3 includes an E3 port. You can configure its parameters at the physical level
as follows:
 To configure the E3 port:
1. From the Physical Ports menu, select E3.
The E3 menu appears as illustrated in
Figure 4-10 .

Configuration>Physical Ports >E3
1. Administrative status (Up)
2. Tx Clock (internal clock)
3. Protocol (LAPS)

2. From the E3 menu, configure the following:
 Administrative Status
 Up – the network port is enabled
 Down – the network port is disabled.
 Tx Clock. Specifies the clock source
 Internal
 LBT.
 Protocol. Specifies the encapsulation
 HDLC
 LAPS.
3. Select Save to complete the user E3 port configuration.
