1-66 Port Level Configuration Operations
Table 1-36. Software Configuration Parameters – VC Cards
Parameter Possible Values / Remarks
Connect Indicates whether the port should be considered in any of the Megaplex algorithms
No, Yes
Interface For E&M, MTVC-2, VC-16A cards:
2WIRE, 4WIRE
For others:
2WIRE
Note: Interface is the same for all card ports except for VC-8, VC-16 and VC-16A cards
where it can be different for each port.
Tx Level (dBm) Transmit level in steps of 1 or 0.5 dBm
–17..8
Note: Tx Level value can be offset by a certain value if Offset 1 is selected in the System
Information dialog box (Figure 1-6).
Rx Level (dBm) Receive level in steps of 1 or 0.5 dBm
–23..2
Note: The Rx Level value can be offset by a certain value if Offset 1 is selected in the
System Information dialog box (Figure 1-6).
Coding Law
Alaw, Ulaw
Note: Coding Law is the same for all card ports.
Signaling Method
No Signaling, RobbedBitMultiFrame, RobbedBitFrame, Ch Associated E1
Note: Options vary depending on card. Signaling Method is the same for all card ports. It
does not exist for MTVC-2 cards.
Signaling Profile
1
, 2, 3, 3 Reverse-Polarity, 3 Metering–Pulse, 4,
NA (when Signaling Method=No Signaling)
Note: Only for VC-6 family cards. Options vary depending on card. Signaling Profile is the
same for all card ports.
Encoding Mode
PCM
, ADPCM
Note: Only for VC-6A family, VC-8, VC-16, VC-16A cards. Encoding Mode is the same for
all card ports. ADPCM is currently not supported by VC-8, VC-16 E&M, FXO, FXS cards.
For VC–6A, VC–6AG TSA, when Encoding Mode=ADPCM, each port uses 1/2 TS. You
must use two adjacent/successive channels when using TSA with 'Encoding Mode' =
ADPCM (you can connect BOTH ports of a pair or disconnect BOTH). In this case, you
must connect 2 ports (of a pair: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6) together.
