4-2 Configuring Optimux-106 for Management Optimux-106 Ver. 6.1
Parameter Description
Name The name of device. It is easier to identify the device by a name
than by its IP address.
Location The location of Optimux-106 unit
Contact The name, phone, and/or any other details you want to save in
this field.
Setting the Network Parameters
When you integrate Optimux-106 into your network, you need to set the network
parameters of Optimux-106.
³ To set network parameters:
1. From Main menu, select System>Management>Host.

Configuration>System>Management>Host IP
1. IP Address ... (0.0.0.0)
2. IP Mask ... (0.0.0.0)
3. Default Gateway ... (0.0.0.0)
4. Read Community ... (public)
5. Write Community ... ()
6. Trap Community ... ()

2. From the Host IP menu, set network parameters.

Parameter Description
IP Address The IP address of Optimux-106.
IP Mask The IP mask.
Default Gateway The IP address of the gateway.
Read Community The read community. This field is used by SNMP. Specify a
string of 15 characters.
Write Community The write community. This field is used by SNMP. Specify a
string of 15 characters.
Trap Community The trap community. This field is used by SNMP. Specify a
string of 15 characters.
