Parameter Possible Values Description 
Alarm Indication  Normal 
Signal loss 
Indicates the highest status 
level of current alarms. 
Test Indication  On 
Off 
Indicates whether a loopback 
test is currently being run. 
Alarm Masked 
Unmasked 
Identifies whether alarms on 
the device are masked or not. 
When masked, Ethernet alarms 
are not trapped. 
³  To monitor the status of the uplink: 
1.  To toggle between the local and remote device, enter 1. 
The Device Number changes to identify the unit currently being 
monitored. 
2.  To toggle between LINK A and LINK B, enter 2. 
The screen displays the current status of the selected port on the 
selected device.

³  To monitor the status of the E1 port: 
1.  To toggle between the local and remote device, enter 1. 
The Device Number changes to identify the unit currently being 
monitored (Local or Remote). 
2.  To select a E1 port to monitor, enter 2 and then the port number (1 to 4). 
The screen displays the current status of the selected port on the 
selected device.
