It can store up to 20 messages and alerts you with a gentle vibration, a chirp, or one of seven tone patterns. Your pager uses “flex” technology — the latest in paging technology — to extend battery life up to four times longer than ordinary pagers, saving you time and money.

For the best performance and longest life, we recommend an alkaline battery, such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-555. Caution: Always use a fresh battery of the required size and recommended type. Note: The built-in memory saver indefinitely stores most settings (but not messages) while the battery is removed or after it loses power. 1. Slide the battery cover lock away from the cover to unlock it.

Replace the cover and lock it. When battery power becomes low, the pager displays . You have about 5 days of battery power left when this warning first appears, depending on use. Hint: To save power, turn off the pager (or set it to turn off automatically) when you are not using it.

Note: If you do not press a button within 8 seconds while setting the date or any of the pager’s other features, the pager stores any changes made to that point and returns to the time/date display. 1. At the time/date display, repeatedly press the pager displays SET dATE?. 2. Press . The month digits flash. 3. Repeatedly press 4.

SETTING THE TIME Press to turn on the pager (if necessary), then follow these steps to set the current time. Note: If you do not set the time, the pager incorrectly reports the times of your pages. 1. At the time/date display, repeatedly press the pager displays SET TIME?. 2. Press 12 . The hour digit(s) flash.

To use the 24-hour format (or to reselect the 12-hour format if you previously changed it), repeatedly press until 12 HOURS (or 24 so 24 (or 12) HOURS) appears, press flashes, then press and proceed with Step 2. 3. Repeatedly press until the pager displays the desired hour. Then press for the next digit. Repeat this step for each time digit until the pager displays the correct time. 4.

You can also set the pager to not alert you. Follow these steps to select the alert type. 1. At the time/date display, press appears. . SET ALERT ? 2. Press . The first alert type (VIBRATE ?) appears. 3. To have the pager vibrate when you receive a page, simply press . The pager vibrates briefly, and appears.

The last selected pattern sounds and its number (such as ALERT 6) appears. To select a different pattern, repeatedly press within 8 seconds. Each time you press , the pager sounds the selected pattern and displays that alert number (ALERT 1, ALERT 2, and so on). When you hear the pattern you want, press again so appears.

The pager sounds whichever alert tone is currently set or vibrates and briefly turns on all indicators. To turn off the pager, repeatedly press pager displays PAGER OFF ?. Then press indicator turns off. until the . or Notes: • The time and date appear when the pager is off. • The pager does not receive pages when it is off.

Press to display the first unread message and its number (such as 07). If the message contains more than 12 digits, repeatedly press to see the rest of it. The last screen gives the message’s time. To read the next message, press again.

If the pager’s memory is full when it receives a message, the new message replaces the oldest, unprotected message in memory (see “Protecting and Unprotecting Messages” on Page 22). Erasing Individual Messages 1. Repeatedly press until the pager displays the message you want to erase.

Repeatedly (if necessary) press desired alarm status flashes.

Leave your pager number at your children’s school and with the babysitter so you can always be reached in an emergency. Establish code messages with your family or friends. For example, your children can include the code 3333 to tell you they are home from school.

If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately. • Use and store the pager only in normal temperature environments. • Handle the pager gently and carefully. Don’t drop it. • Keep the pager away from dust and dirt. • Wipe the pager with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.

To determine whether your pager is causing the interference, turn off the pager. If the interference goes away, your pager is causing the interference. Try to eliminate the interference by moving the pager away from the TV or radio. If you cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC requires that you stop using your pager.
