Pasting Text
When you cut text, it is actually
transferred to an area of memory
called the "paste buffer." With
the
(PASTE]
key (at the top), you
can "paste" this text anywhere
you want.
Paste the text into Jones Fur-
niture's order. Move to the "r"
in "redwood." Then paste the
text in place by pressing

Copying Text
Now suppose the next customer,
Handy Joe, wants the exact
"copy" of Jones Furniture's
order. First, select the text you
want to copy. In this example:
1.
Move just under the "J" in
"Jones Furniture."
2.
Press (ED.
3.
Use the cursor movement keys
to select the following text. (In
this example, press (CTRL)
GD
and then press CD 4 times.)

Cut
After selecting text, press the
Copy key (CRT)) to copy the text
into the paste buffer. Then move
to where you want the copied
text to
be—in
this example, just
under the "H" in "Handy
Joe"—and
press

Moving Text to Other Files
The information you cut or copy
into the paste buffer remains
there even after you exit a file.
Because of this, you can move
text from 1 file to the next as
