Designing a Simple Spreadsheet
As a simple example of how to
use a spreadsheet, assume you
need to analyze how varying
costs will affect January's total
production costs:

At the Main Menu, enter
MSPLAN. MSPLAN asks:
File to use?
Enter a file name. For this exam-
ple,
type COSTS
(ENTER].
Multiplan then displays a blank
spreadsheet with 4 columns
across and 15 rows down:
The cursor is at Row 1, Column
1 (R1C1). Move to the next col-
umn (R1C2) by pressing
£D.
Keep moving right and you see
that, although you can see only 4
columns at a time, the spread-
sheet actually has 63 columns.
Move down and you see that it
actually has 99 rows.
Move to R1C2, and type
January. You see what you are
typing at the bottom of the
screen. If you make a mistake,
use (BKSP) to correct it:
