TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Solution
Display begins to fade,
does not appear, or the red
light blinks five times when
you press a key.
Replace the batteries with
four fresh AAA alkaline
batteries.
The 7-in-One does not
operate your device.
Try all of the codes listed
for your brand of device in
the “Setup Codes” section.
If this does not work, try
searching for your code
(see “Searching for a
Code” on Page 24). Make
sure the device you are
setting up can be operated
with an infrared remote.
The 7-in-One is not per-
forming commands prop-
erly.
Try all of the codes listed
for your brand of device in
the “Setup Codes” section.
Many set-up codes may
allow some degree of
operation. However, only
one set-up code will work
correctly with your device.
You make a mistake when
setting up your 7-in-One.
During any set up proce-
dure, except for timed
sequences, the
ESCAPE
key will return you to the
DEVICE
and
TIME
screen without saving any
of the entered informa-
tion. If you make a mis-
take when setting up the
timed sequence, return to
the timed sequence menu
and delete the incorrect
sequence.
VCR not recording. As a safety feature on the
7-in-One, you must press
the
REC
key twice to
begin recording.
CH +/–
(Channel Up/
Down) and
LAST
not
working for your RCA TV.
Due to RCA design (1983-
1987), only the original
remote will operate these
functions.
