24. PIPETTE CALIBRATION
Balance allows pipette calibration by means of a special balance software or by
means of cooperation with computer software “Pipettes” intended for pipettes calibration
(workstation for pipettes calibration).
Before pipettes calibration a special set must be mounted inside the draft shield. The
set is an atypical balance equipment. See the picture below for set assembly instruction.

Calibration set assembly procedure:
• dismantle the weighing pan and the draft shield,
• place centering ring (8) inside the draft shield,
• put glass ring (7) onto the centering ring,
• place weighing pan (6) inside the glass ring,
• place top ring (5) onto the glass ring,
• place evaporation ring (4) onto the top ring (5)
• insert calibration vessel (3) into the evaporation ring,
• place the glass cover plate (2) onto the top ring,
• put glass lid (1) onto the glass cover plate.
Balance with a mounted pipette calibration
set.
Evaporation ring eliminates measurement errors being a result of liquid evaporation
occurring while weighing process.
