Instruction Manual

There are two ways for you to change the bulb in your spotlight. One is to use hot
water and the other utilizes compressed air.
1) Remover the boot nut from the switch on the spot light housing and set aside. In a
large pan, bring some water almost to a boil and remove from heat. While the water is
still hot, submerge the rubber housing, bulb down, approximately two inches under water
for 1 full minute. Remove the light from the water and as soon as it is comfortable to
touch, pull back the rubber lip while pushing the light out from the back. The heat causes
the rubber to become more supple which makes the removal of the bulb easier. Do not
use a metal object to pry out the bulb as this may cause the bulb to shatter. A small film
of liquid soap on the inner lip will help to install the new bulb or you can use the hot
water to warm the housing again to ease your new bulb into place. Start inserting the
new bulb by placing it into the housing nearest the 1" ball base and work towards the
top. Note the way the electrical connections are made prior to removal to ease the
installation of the new bulb.
2) Use safety glasses for this method. Place the spotlight with the bulb facing down on a
folded towel over a flat surface. Unscrew the boot nut which covers the on/off switch of
your light. Gently press the switch inside the housing allowing a small access hole into
the housing of the light. Take an air nozzle connected to a source of compressed air and
place it over the hole or just inside. Use your hand to complete the seal around the hole
while filling the housing with air. You will notice pressure building and the bulb will pop
out as a result. Sometimes, a short blast of air is all it takes to pop out the bulb. After the
old bulb is removed, poke the switch back through the access hole and secure the boot
nut prior to installing the new bulb. As previously stated, a small film of liquid soap on the
inner lip will help to install the new bulb or you can use hot water to warm the housing to
ease your new bulb into place.
