315MHz signal test:
While holding the remote control in close proximity to the WCT3, activate the
WCT3 and then the device under test.
Results:
 WCT3 indicates 315MHz signal.
 Problem?
 If no signal indication is obtained there is a problem with
the device such as a dead battery or other electronic
problem.
 If a 315MHz signal is indicated and there is no response
from the vehicle a problem with the vehicle 315MHz re-
ceiving system or corrupted key fob data is indicated
Infrared signal test:
Point the device being tested so the infrared source is pointing toward the in-
frared detector on the WCT3, activate the WCT3 and then activate the device
under test.
Results:
 The “IR” indicator on the WCT3 is illuminated. If the device under
test also produces a 315MHz signal the 315MHz indicator will
also be illuminated.
It is possible that the 315MHz indicator will be activated even if
this signal is not expected. This is the result of the WCT3 detect-
ing the internal microprocessor clock signal internal to the device
under test and does not indicate a problem.
 Problem?
 If no signal indication is obtained a problem with the de-
vice under test such as a dead battery or other electronic
problem is indicated.
 If a 315MHz signal is also expected and the “315MHz”
indicator is not illuminated a problem with the device un-
der test such as a dead battery or other electronic prob-
lem is indicated.
