RRG™ Gas Boiler
Gas Conversion Kit
A. General
These instructions contain information to convert
an RRG gas boiler from natural gas to LP/
propane or from LP/propane to natural gas.
B. Materials provided with kit. Numbers in
parenthesis reference Key No. in Repair Parts

C. Turn off the electrical power and gas
supply.
CAUTION
The gas supply shall be shut off prior
to disconnecting the electrical power,
before proceeding with the conversion.
1. Follow instructions TO TURN OFF GAS
TO APPLIANCE. Refer to Operating
Instructions located on jacket left side
panel or Installation, Operating and Service
Instructions.

2. Turn off the electrical power at the service
switch, circuit breaker, or fuse.
3. Turn off the gas supply by closing the manual
shutoff valve at the boiler or the shutoff valve
at the gas meter.
D. Remove existing gas valve, main
burner orifi ces and pilot assembly.
CAUTION
Label all wires prior to disconnection
when servicing controls. Wiring errors
can cause improper and dangerous
operation.
1. Disconnect igniter and sensor wires at boiler
control.
2. Remove gas valve. Use wrenches on both gas
valve and gas manifold to prevent damage to
gas manifold.
3. Disconnectamerolloutswitchwires.
4. Loosen two (2) screws securing burner access
panel (14). Lift off and remove burner access
panel.
5. Liftmainburners(21)offmainburnerorices
(24). Remove from boiler.
6. Note pilot tubing position under gas manifold
and pilot burner. Disconnect or cut pilot
tubing (35) from existing pilot assembly.
7. Mark position of pilot burner (22) on gas
manifold. Lift pilot burner (22) off main
burnerorices(24).Removefromboiler.
8.Removeexistingmainburnerorices(24).
9. Disconnect existing pilot assembly (33) and
ground wire (34) from pilot burner (22).
WARNING
This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualifi ed service agency in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable codes
and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. If the information
in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fi re, an explosion or
production of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage,
personal injury or loss of life. The qualifi ed service agency is responsible
for the proper installation of this kit. The installation is not proper and
complete until the operation of the converted appliance is checked as
specifi ed in the manufacturer’s instructions supplied with the kit.
