The better you prepare
your surface, the better
your project will turn out.
Remove any loose dirt,
debris, paint or sealers
from your surface. In many
cases, a stiff wire brush
and water will work well.
Bonding to some surfaces
may require heavier abrading or grinding.
Saturate the surface with water and allow the water to soak it.
Remove any puddles before applying the Rapid Set
®
.
Now, you’re ready to mix your Rapid Set
®
.
REMEMBER: Your mix will begin to set in about 15 minutes.
Use very cold water or SET Control
®
if you need more time.
Measure the water you
will need (according to the
instructions on the Rapid
Set
®
package) and pour
it into a clean bucket or
mixing container. If you are
using SET Control
®
, now is
the time to add it to your
mix water.
Pour some clean water into a second bucket. This will be
used later, if needed, to adjust the consistency of your mix.
Add the Rapid Set
®
by slowly pouring and stirring it into the
bucket of measured water. NOTE: Add the dry powder to the
water. Adding the water to the dry powder often requires
more aggressive mixing.
Continue to add the powder until you have achieved the
desired consistency. If mix is too thin, add more dry mix. If it
is too thick, add more water.
For horizontal, vertical,
and overhead applications,
place your mixture to the
desired height immediately
- in one layer. Screed,
trowel or oat in the
nished height.
Quickly apply any troweled
nish you desire. For
stucco projects, use a
rubber or sponge oat to
produce a textured surface.
After your mixture has
been placed and begins
to harden, water cure the
area to ensure a strong,
crack-free nish.
As cement hardens, the
surface will begin to dry
out. This is the time to
begin your water curing.
Spray a ne water mist over the surface for at least 30
minutes. Cure longer for thin sections, in cold weather, or
when using SET Control
®
(NOTE: For smaller jobs, a spray
bottle may be used).
Remember to clean your tools immediately after use.
