Raymarine AIS Receivers and Transceivers -
See and be seen!
Operating in the VHF maritime band, the AIS (Automatic identification System) system enables the
wireless exchange of navigation status between vessels and shore-side traffic monitoring centres.
Commercial ships, ocean-going vessels and recreational boats equipped with AIS transceivers
broadcast AIS messages that include the vessel’s name, course, speed and current navigation status.
There are 3 different types of AIS systems: Class A, Class B and receive-only;
• Class A is a regulatory requirement for IMO/SOLAS commercial vessels; Class A transmits and
receives the full set of AIS information.
• Class B systems provide less expensive AIS functionality for smaller commercial vessels and pleasure
vessels that do not need to comply with IMO/SOLAS regulations. Class B uses lower transmission
power and transmits a shortened or simplified set of AIS information at a slightly less frequent rate
compared to Class A.
• Receive-only systems; inexpensive and low-powered, these systems only receive information from
other vessels (whether transmitting using Class A or Class B) and do not transmit any information
about the vessel on which they are installed.
AIS650 Transceiver
Class B AIS transceiver allowing you to transmit
your data to other AIS equipped vessels, and
receive and see their data on your Raymarine
multifunction display’s radar and/or chartplotter
screen. The ultra-compact AIS650 is engineered
for high performance and seamless integration
with your Raymarine navigation system.
AIS350 Receiver Only
Dual-channel receive-only product designed for
small boats wanting the increased situational
awareness benefit of AIS, but without the need
for Class B transmitting capability. This low cost
alternative brings many of the safety advantages
of AIS to a wider range of vessels than ever
before.

Tech Tip
Vessel Protection
As part of a suitably configured network,
AIS enables owners to be alerted to
unauthorised vessel movements.
AIS100 Splitter The AIS100 Splitter is an
amplified splitter designed to receive AIS signals
and VHF transmissions simultaneously from one
antenna with minimal loss of signal.
