Implementation—directconnectiontobattery
•Theunitmaybeconnecteddirectlytothevessel's
battery,viaasuitablyratedfuseorbreaker.
•IftheunitdoesnotrequireaseparateRFGround
(drain)connection,onlythepowercable’sredand
blackwiresneedtobeconnected.
•YouMUSTtasuitablyratedfuseorbreaker
betweentheredwireandthebattery’spositive
terminal.
•Refertotheinlinefuseratingsprovidedinthe
product’sdocumentation.

BatteryconnectionscenarioA:suitableforavessel
withacommonRFgroundpoint.Inthisscenario,if
yourproductrequiresaseparateRFGround(drain)
connectionthenitshouldbeconnectedtothevessel’s
commongroundpoint.

withoutacommongroundingpoint.Inthiscase,if
yourproductrequiresaseparateRFGround(drain)
connectionthenitshouldbeconnecteddirectlytothe
battery’snegativeterminal.

•Alternatively,theunit’spowerconnectionmaybe
connectedtoasuitablebreakerorswitchonthe
vessel'spowerdistributionpanel,orfactory-tted
powerdistributionpoint.
•Thedistributionpointshouldbefedfrom
thevessel’sprimarypowersourceby8AWG
(8.36mm

•Ideally,allequipmentshouldbewiredtoindividual
suitably-ratedthermalbreakersorfuses,with
appropriatecircuitprotection.Wherethisisnot
possibleandmorethan1itemofequipment
sharesabreaker,useindividualin-linefuses
foreachpowercircuittoprovidethenecessary
protection.
•Inallcases,observetherecommended
breaker/fuseratingsprovidedintheproduct’s
documentation.

thermalbreakerorfuseisdependentonthe
numberofdevicesyouareconnecting.
