3.3Bracket(Trunnion)mounting
ThebracketcanbeusedtomountyourMFDonahorizontalsurface,thebracketcanalsobeusedto
mounttheMFDinanaboveheadinstallation.
EnsureyouhavechosenasuitablemountinglocationforyourMFD,withsufficientheadroomto
allowtheMFD’sangletobeadjustedortheMFDtoberemovedifnecessary.Ifinstalling‘above
head’takeextracaretoensuretheknobsaretightenedsufficientlytopreventthemcomingundone
duetovibrationwhenunderway.
Note:TheillustrationdepictsanAxiom™7beingmountedonaplastictrunnionbracket.The
trunnionbracketsuppliedwiththeAxiom™9andAxiom™12aremadefrommetalandsolook
differentthanthetrunnionshown.AmetaltrunnionbracketisalsoavailablefortheAxiom™7asan
accessory;Partnumber:R70528.
1.UsingtheBracketasatemplate,Markanddrill4xpilotholesonthemountingsurface.
2.Useselftappingscrewstosecurethetrunnionbrackettothemountingsurface.
If the mounting surface is too thin for the screws provided, use stainless steel machine screws,
washers and locking nuts, alternatively reinforce the rear of the mounting surface.
3.Usingthebracketknobs,securetheMFDtotheBracket,ensuringtheratchetteetharecorrectly
engaged.
The knobs should be tightened by hand, sufficiently to prevent the MFD from moving whilst your
vessel is underway.
