12.Applyathickbeadofmarinegradesealanttothe
bottomofthenut.
13.Ensuringthatthedeadriseblockandtransducer
donotmove,securethetransducerassemblyby
tighteningthenut.
14.Handtightenthenutandaddafurtherquarter
turnusinganadjustablewrench(spanner).
Inordertopreventleaksandtransducer
movementwhenhitbyobjectsorwaves,ensure
thatthenutisadequatelytightened.Youshould
seethesealantprotrudingfromtheedgesofthe
appliedsurfaces.
DoNOTovertighten.Overtighteningcancause
damagetothetransducerandhullwhichmay
resultinwaterleakingintothehull.
15.Removeanyexcessadhesivesealant.
16.Ensurethatthesealanthasfullycuredbefore
puttingthevesselbackinthewater.
Refertothesealantmanufacturersinstructions
forcuringtimes.
17.Oncethevesselhasbeenputbackinthewater
checkforleaksimmediately.
18.Checkforleaksatregularintervalsafter
installationuntilyouaresatisedthatthereare
noleaks.
19.Ensurecheckingforleaksaroundthetransducer
isaddedtoyourroutinevesselmaintenance
schedule.

6.4Coredberglasshullmounting
Ifinstallinginacoredberglasshull,itis
recommendedthatthetransducerismountedina
non-coredsection.
Ifinstallationinacoredsectionofthehullisrequired
thentheareaaroundtheholemustbeadequately
strengthenedtoensureitisnotdamagedwhen
tighteningthetransducer.
Important:Installationinacoredberglasshull
shouldonlybecarriedoutbyacompetentmarine
installer.
