12.2Radarscanspeed
SuperHDopenarrayradarswithsoftwareversion3.23oraboveor
HDradomessupportmultiplescanspeeds.
RadarscanspeedissetupusingtheRadarSet-upmenu.When
thesystemdetectsascannerthatiscapableofoperatingatboth24
RPMand48RPM,2optionsareprovidedforscannerspeed:
•24RPM
•Auto
Ifyouhavearadarscannerthatonlyoperatesat24RPM,the
scannerspeedoptionisdisabled.Ifthescannerspeedoptionis
enabled,youmustselecttheAutooptionifyouwanttousethe
higherscanspeeds.Thisoptionautomaticallyswitchesbetweenthe
24RPMand48RPMscanspeedsasappropriate.

Thespeedoptionrequiresa48RPMcompatibleRaymarineHD
radomeorRaymarineSuperHDopenarrayradarscanner.
Selectyourradarscannerspeedfromwithintheradarapplication.

4.Selecttherequiredscannerspeed:
•Auto
•24RPM
TheAutooptionautomaticallyselectstheappropriatespeed
foryourradarrange.48RPMisusedatradarrangesofup
to3nm.Itprovidesanincreasedrefreshrate,whichisuseful
athighspeedorinareaswhereyouhavelargenumbersof
radartargets.Atradarrangesofgreaterthan3nmthedisplay
switchestheradarspeedto24RPM.

Theradarscannerpowermodestatusisindicatedinthedatabar.

Rotatingicon,signifyingthatthescanneris
onandtransmitting.WhenSCANNERis
settoON,selectthismodetoactivatethe
scanner.Thisistheusualmodeofoperation.
Standby
(STBY)
Staticicon,indicatingthatthescannerison
butnottransmitting,andtheantennaisnot
rotating.Thescannerdoesnottransmitand
theradardataisremovedfromthescreen.
Thisisapower-savemodeusedwhenthe
radarisnotneededforshorttimeperiods.
Whenyoureturntotransmitmode,the
magnetrondoesnotneedtowarmupagain.
Thisisthedefaultmode.
OffScannerpoweredoffwhenradarnotrequired,
butdisplayisinuseforotherapplications,
suchasthechart.Whenselected,thesystem
countsdown.Duringthistimeyoucannot
re-powerthescanner.
Timed
Transmit
Scannerswitchesbetweenon/transmitting,
andstandbymode.Scannergoesintopower
savemodewhenconstantuseofradarisnot
required.
Poweringtheradarscanneronandoff
Intheradarapplication:
1.SelectMenu.
2.SelectPowertoswitchtheRadar'spowerOnandOff.
TheradarwillalwayspowerupinStandbymode.
3.SelectRadartoswitchtheradarbetweenTransmitandStandby
modes.
