Usingshnderrangeshift
Thedefaultsettingadjuststhedisplaytokeeptheseabedinthe
lowerhalfofthedisplaywindow.Alternativelyyoucanshiftthe
imagewithinthecurrentrange.Changestotherangeshiftare
reectedinallshnderwindows.
Fromtheshnderapplication,withtheRangeModesettoManual:
1.SelectMenu.
2.SelectRange.
3.SelectRangeShift.
Therangeshiftdialogisdisplayed.
4.Adjustthesettingtotherequirevalue.
5.SelecttheRangeShiftmenu.
6.UsetheRotaryControltoadjusttheRangeShifttotherequired
setting.
7.SelectBackorpresstheOkbuttontoconrmthesettingand
closetherangeshiftdialog.
Fishnder(dualfrequency)independentrange
WhenconnectedtoaRaymarineCHIRPsonarmodule,therange
forfrequency1andfrequency2canbechangedindependently
orbothatthesametime.
Adjustingrangeoneachfrequencyindependently
1.SelectMenu.
2.SelectRange.
3.SelectAdjust.
4.SelectFrequency1,Frequency2orBoth.
5.Exitthemenu.
6.UsetheRangecontroltochangetherangefortheselected
frequency.

Youcanadjusttherangeusingthetouchscreen.
Fromtheshnderapplication,withtherangesettomanual:
1.Selectanareaon-screenforthefrequencyyouwanttoadjust.
2.SlideyourngerUporDowntoadjusttherangeforthat
frequency.
Note:Frequenciescanonlybeadjustedindependentlywhen
connectedtoaRaymarineCHIRPsonarmodule.
14.12Fishndersensitivitysettings
TheSensitivitysettingsmenuprovidesaccesstofeaturesand
functionswhichenhancewhatisdisplayedonscreen.
Sensitivityoptionsinclude:
•Gain
•GainMode—Onlyavailablewhenconnectedtoanon-CHIRP
sonarmoduleincludingtheinternalsonarmodule.
•ColorGain
•TVG
•ColorThreshold
•PowerMode

Thegainsettingsalterthewaythesonarmoduleprocesses
backgroundnoise(alsocalledclutter).Adjustingthegainsettings
canimprovethesonarimage,howeverforoptimumperformancein
mostconditions,werecommendthatyouusetheautosettings.
Thegainadjuststhereturnthreshold(echostrength)abovewhich
theshnderwillshowanobjectonthescreen.
Therearetwogainmodes:
•Auto
•Manual
Auto
InAutomode,thesonarmoduleautomaticallyadjuststhegain
settingtosuitcurrentconditions.Anyadjustmentsmadeapplytoall
shnderwindowsusingthatparticularfrequency.
ForRaymarinesonarmoduleswhichdonothaveCHIRPcapabilities
therearethreeAutomodes,eachsuitedtodifferentscenarios:
•Cruising(Low)isidealforviewingshnderimageswitha
minimumofbackgroundnoiseasyouarecruisingtoyourshing
spot.Onlythestrongestechoesaredisplayed.
•Trolling(Medium)isaslightlyhighergainsettingthatdisplays
moredetail.Thisisthedefaultmode.
•Fishing(High)providesthemostdetail,butalsodisplaysthe
mostbackgroundnoiseandsurfaceclutter.

Ifnecessaryyoucansetthegaincontrolsmanually,betweena
valueof0%to100%.Thisvalueshouldbesethighenoughto
seeshandbottomdetailbutwithouttoomuchbackgroundnoise.
Generallyahighgainisusedindeepand/orclearwater;alowgain
inshallowand/ormurkywater.
Thenewvaluesremainsetevenwhenyouswitchoffthedisplay,
theyareappliedtoboththeactivewindowandanyothershnder
windowswiththesamefrequency.
Selectingthefrequencyforgainadjustments
WhenconnectedtoaRaymarineCHIRPsonarmodule,thegain
forfrequency1andfrequency2canbechangedindependentlyor
bothatthesametime.Ifconnectedtoanon-CHIRPsonarmodule
adjustmentswillbemadetobothfrequenciessimultaneously.
