Onceyourdisplayhasbeeninstalledandcommissioned,Raymarine
recommendsthatyouperformaninitialsetupprocedure.

Whenyoupower-upthedisplayforthersttimeorafterasystem
resetaStartupWizardisdisplayed.Thewizardguidesyouthrough
thefollowinginitialsettings:
1.Languageselection
2.Vesseltypeselection
3.Congureunits
4.Boatdetails(minimumsafedepth,totalfuelcapacityand
economyunits.)
5.Finish
Note:Thesesettingscanalsobesetatanytimeusingthemenus
accessiblefromHomescreen>Customize.
Additionalsettings
InadditiontothesettingscoveredbytheWizard,itisalso
recommendedthatthefollowinginitialsetuptasksarecompleted:
•Setyourdateandtimepreferences.
•Adjustthedisplaybrightness(andsetupasharedbrightness
schemeifappropriate).
•Alignthetouchscreen(HybridTouchdisplaysonly).
•Designatethedatamaster.
•SelecttheGPSdatasource.
•FamiliarizeyourselfwiththeSimulatorMode.
Settingthevesselminimumsafedepth
Withthehomescreendisplayed:
1.SelectCustomize.
2.SelectBoatDetails.
3.SelectMin.SafeDepth.
4.Adjustthesettingasappropriate.
Note:Theunitsforthedepthmeasurementarebasedonthose
speciedintheHomescreen>Customize>UnitsSet-up>
DepthUnitsmenu.
Settingtimeanddatepreferences
Withthehomescreendisplayed:
1.SelectCustomize.
2.SelectTimeandDateSet-up.
3.UsetheDateFormat,TimeFormat,andLocalTime:UTC
menuitemstosetyourtimeanddatepreferences.
Adjustingthedisplaybrightness
1.PressthePOWERbuttononce.
TheBacklightLevelcontrolisdisplayed.
2.Usingtherotarycontrol,adjustthebrightnesslevelas
appropriate.
3.T oswitchthecolorpalette,fromthehomescreenselect
Customize>DisplayPreferences>ColorPalette.
Touchscreenalignment
Ifthetouchscreenismisalignedtoyourtouch,youcanrealignit
toimprovetheaccuracy.
Realignmentinvolvesasimpleexercisetoalignanon-screenobject
withyourtouch.Forbestresults,performthisexercisewhenyour
vesselisanchoredormoored.
Note:Thisonlyappliestotouchscreenmultifunctiondisplays.
Aligningthetouchscreen
Withthehomescreendisplayed:
1.SelectSet-up.
2.SelectMaintenance.
3.SelectTouchscreenAlignment.
4.Placeyourngerovertheon-screenobjectmomentarily,then
removeit.
5.Repeattheactionafurther3times.
6.Iftheoperationwassuccessful,an“AlignmentCompleted”
messageisdisplayed.
7.SelectExittoreturntotheMaintenancemenu.
8.Iftheoperationwasunsuccessfulatanypointduringthe
alignmentexercise,an“Incorrecttouchdetected"messageis
displayed,thealignmentexerciseisrepeated.
9.After2failedalignmentexercisesyouwillhavetoperforma
precisionalignmentexercise.
Datamaster
Anysystemcontainingmorethanonenetworkedmultifunction
displaymusthaveadesignateddatamaster.
Thedatamasteristhedisplaywhichservesasaprimarysource
ofdataforalldisplays,italsohandlesallexternalsourcesof
information.Forexamplethedisplaysmayrequireheading
informationfromtheautopilotandGPSsystems,usuallyreceived
throughaSeaT alk
ng
orNMEAconnection.Thedatamasteristhe
displaytowhichtheSeaT alk,NMEAandanyotherdataconnections
aremade,itthenbridgesthedatatotheSeaT alk
hs
networkand
anycompatiblerepeatdisplays.Informationsharedbythedata
masterincludes:
•Cartography
•Routesandwaypoints
•Radar
•Sonar
•Datareceivedfromtheautopilot,instruments,theengineand
otherexternalsources.
Yoursystemmaybewiredforredundancywithdataconnections
madetorepeatdisplays.Howevertheseconnectionswillonly
becomeactiveintheeventofafaultand/orreassignmentofthe
datamaster.
Designatingthedatamaster
Forsystemswith2ormoredisplaysthefollowingtaskmustbe
performedonthemultifunctiondisplaythatyouwanttodesignate
asthedatamaster.
Withthehomescreendisplayed:
1.SelectSet-up.
2.SelectMaintenance.
3.SelectDataMaster.
4.Selectthedisplaythatyouwanttodesignateasthedatamaster.
5.PresstheOKbutton.
