17.1Fuelmanageroverview
Thefuelmanagerprovidesanestimateoffuelremaining,andthe
distanceandtimewhichcanbetravelledbeforethetanksare
empty.Inordertocalculatethesevalues,youmustcongurethe
totalcapacityoffuelavailabletotheenginesandlogeachtimeyou
addfuel.Thefuelmanageralsoallowsyoutosetalowfuelwarning
alarmwhichissoundedwhenthevessel'sestimatedfuelfallsbelow
aspeciedvalue.
Thefuelmanagerpageprovidescurrentcalculationestimatesand
controlstoenableuseofthefuelmanagerfeature.

•Turnonthefuelmanagerfeature.
•Fillthefueltankstofull.
•Select‘Alltanksfull’.
•Logeachsubsequentfuelllwhetherpartialorfull.
Note:
Fuelmanagerestimatestheamountoffuelonboard,basedon
theuserloggingeachtimeyoullup,thetotalfuelcapacity,and
howmuchfuelisburnedbytheengine(s).Anyincorrectentry
coulddramaticallyaffecttheestimatedfuelusageandcapacity
whichcouldresultinashortageoffuel.Thissystemisnota
substituteforothertypesoffuelcalculations.
Totalfuelonboardisanestimateandwillbeinaccurateiffuellls
arenotentered,orfuelisusedbyothersources(e.g.generators
etc.).Estimateddistanceandtimetoemptywillbebasedonthe
fuelremainingcalculationandvaluesdonotincludeweather/tide
effects.
Youshouldnotrelyonthefuelmanagercalculationsforaccurate
voyageplanningorinemergencyandsafetycriticalsituations.
Enablinganddisablingfuelmanager
Toturnthefuelmanageronandofffollowthestepsbelow.
Fromthehomescreen.
1.SelectSet-up.
2.SelectFuelManager.
3.SelectTurnOn,orTurnOff.
IfthefuelmanageriscurrentlyOff,TurnOnisdisplayed.Ifthe
fuelmanageriscurrentlyOn,TurnOffisdisplayed.
Settingupfuelmanager
Tosetuptherequiredsettingsforthefuelmanagerfollowthesteps
below.
WiththeFuelManagerpagedisplayed:
1.SelectSet-up.
2.SelectTotalFuelCapacity.
3.Adjustthevaluetorepresentyourvessel’stotalfuelcapacity.
4.SelectBack.
5.SelectEconomyUnits.
Alistofavailableoptionsisdisplayed:
•DistanceperVolume
•VolumeperDistance
•Litresper100km
6.Selecttherequiredeconomyunits.
7.SelectBacktogobacktotheFuelManagerpage.
Fuellogging
Youmustensureallfuelllsarerecordedusingthefuelmanager.
Fromthefuelmanagerpage:
1.WhenllingthetanksuntilfullselectAlltanksfull.
Theestimatedfuelremainingisresettothevalueofyourfuel
tankscapacity.
2.Whenonlypartiallyllingthetankmakeanoteofthevolumeof
fueladdedtothetankandthenselectAddpartialll.
3.Enterthevaluenotedearlierthiswillbeaddedtoyourcurrent
fuelremaininggure.
Note:Itisrecommendedthatyouperforman‘Alltanksfull’ll
upasregularlyaspossibleaspartialllswillcauseahigher
cumulativeinaccuracyintheprovidedcalculations.
Settingthelowfuelalarm
Usingthefuelmanageralsoallowsyoutosetalowfuelalarm
which,ifactivated,issoundedwhenyourvessel’sremainingfuel
fallstoaspeciedvalue.
Withthefuelmanagerturnedonandsetupcorrectly:
1.FromthehomescreenselectSet-Up.
2.SelectAlarms.
3.SelectFuelmanager.
Thelowfuelalarmsettingsaredisplayed.
4.SelectLowFuelsothatOnishighlighted.
SelectingLowFuelwillturnthelowfuelalarmOnorOff.
