Bearingalignment
Theradarbearingalignmentensuresthatradarobjectsappearat
thecorrectbearingrelativetoyourboat’sbow.Youshouldcheck
thebearingalignmentforanynewinstallation.

Checkingthebearingalignment
1.Withyourvesselunderway:Alignthebowwithastationary
objectidentiedontheradardisplayAnobjectbetween1&2
NMdistantisideal.
2.Notethepositionoftheobjectontheradardisplay.Ifthetarget
isnotundertheshipsheadingmarker(SHM),thereisan
alignmenterrorandyouwillneedtocarryoutbearingalignment
adjustment.
Adjustingthebearingalignment
Onceyouhavecheckedthebearingalignmentyoucanproceedand
makeanyrequiredadjustments.
Withtheradarapplicationdisplayed:
1.SelectMenu.
2.SelectScannerSet-up.
3.SelectAdvanced.
4.SelectBearingAlignment.
SelectingBearingAlignmentdisplaysthenumericadjustcontrol.
5.AdjustthesettingsothattheselectedtargetisundertheShip’s
HeadingMarker.
6.SelectBackorOkwhencomplete.
Sonarcheck
Warning:Sonaroperation
•NEVERoperatethesonarwiththevesseloutofthe
water.
•NEVERtouchthetransducerfacewhenthesonar
ispoweredon.
•SWITCHOFFthesonarifdiversarelikelytobe
within7.6m(25ft)ofthetransducer.
Sonartransducerandsonarmoduleselection
YoumustdesignatethesonartransducerandSonarmodulethat
youwanttouse.
Sonarmoduleselection
•Sonarvariantdisplaysarettedwithaninternalsonar.
•Allvariantsallowyoutoconnectacompatiblesonarmodule.
•Ifanexternalsonarmoduleisconnectedtoasonarvariantdisplay
andapowersupplytheinternalsonarshouldbeswitchedoff.
•T ouseadisplaysinternalsonaronasystemcontainingan
externalsonarmodule,disconnectthenetworkcablefromthe
externalsonarmoduleandusetheSounderSet-Upmenuinthe
shnderapplicationtoenabletheinternalsonar.
Transducerselection
•SonarvariantdisplaysallowthedirectconnectionofEITHERa
RaymarineORaMinnKotasonartransducer.
•AllvariantsallowtheconnectionofaRaymarinesonartransducer
viaacompatibleexternalsonarmodule.
•ForallvariantsusetheTransducerSet-Upmenuintheshnder
applicationtospecifythesonartransduceryouwanttouse.
Selectingthesonarmodule
Sonarvariantmultifunctiondisplayscanuseeithertheirinternal
sonarmoduleoranexternalRaymarinesonarmodule.
Applicableonlytosonarvariantmultifunctiondisplays.
Withtheshnderapplicationdisplayed:
1.SelectMenu.

Disconnectthenetworkcablefromtheexternalsonarmoduleto
enablethedisplay'sinternalsonaroption.
