TheShortcutsmenuisdisplayed.
2.Adjustthebrightnesstotherequiredlevelusingtheon-screen
brightnesssliderbarcontrol,or
3.T ouchtheSunicontoincreasethebrightnesslevelortheMoon
icontodecreasethebrightnesslevel.
Note:Thebrightnesslevelcanalsobeincreasedbypressingthe
Powerbuttonmultipletimes.
Adjustingthedisplaybrightness
1.PressthePOWERbuttononce.
TheShortcutsmenuisdisplayed.
2.AdjustthebrightnesstotherequiredlevelusingtheRotary
control.
Note:Thebrightnesslevelcanalsobeincreasedbypressingthe
Powerbuttonmultipletimes.
Touchscreenalignment
Ifthetouchscreenismisalignedtoyourtouch,youcanrealignit
toimprovetheaccuracy.
Realignmentinvolvesasimpleexercisetoalignanon-screenobject
withyourtouch.Forbestresults,performthisexercisewhenyour
vesselisanchoredormoored.
Note:Thisonlyappliestotouchscreenmultifunctiondisplays.
Aligningthetouchscreen
Withthehomescreendisplayed:
1.SelectSet-up.
2.SelectMaintenance.
3.SelectTouchscreenAlignment.
4.Placeyourngerovertheon-screenobjectmomentarily,then
removeit.
5.Repeattheactionafurther3times.
6.Iftheoperationwassuccessful,an“AlignmentCompleted”
messageisdisplayed.
7.SelectExittoreturntotheMaintenancemenu.
8.Iftheoperationwasunsuccessfulatanypointduringthe
alignmentexercise,an“Incorrecttouchdetected"messageis
displayed,thealignmentexerciseisrepeated.
9.After2failedalignmentexercisesyoumaybeaskedtoperform
aprecisionalignmentexercise.
Datamaster
Anysystemcontainingmorethanonenetworkedmultifunction
displaymusthaveadesignateddatamaster.
Thedatamasteristhedisplaywhichservesasaprimarysource
ofdataforalldisplays,italsohandlesallexternalsourcesof
information.Forexamplethedisplaysmayrequireheading
informationfromtheautopilotandGPSsystems,usuallyreceived
throughaSeaT alk
ng
orNMEAconnection.Thedatamasteristhe
displaytowhichtheSeaT alk,NMEAandanyotherdataconnections
aremade,itthenbridgesthedatatotheSeaT alk
hs
networkand
anycompatiblerepeatdisplays.Informationsharedbythedata
masterincludes:
Cartography
Routesandwaypoints
Radar
Sonar
Datareceivedfromtheautopilot,instruments,theengineand
otherexternalsources.
Yoursystemmaybewiredforredundancywithdataconnections
madetorepeatdisplays.Howevertheseconnectionswillonly
becomeactiveintheeventofafaultand/orreassignmentofthe
datamaster.
Designatingthedatamaster
Forsystemswith2ormoredisplaysthefollowingtaskmustbe
performedonthemultifunctiondisplaythatyouwanttodesignate
asthedatamaster.
Withthehomescreendisplayed:
1.SelectSet-up.
2.SelectMaintenance.
3.SelectDataMaster.
4.Selectthedisplaythatyouwanttodesignateasthedatamaster.
GPSselection
Youcanuseaninternal(ifavailable)orexternalGPSreceiver.
YourmultifunctiondisplaymayfeatureaninternalGPSreceiver.
YoucanalsoconnectanexternalGPSreceiverusingSeaTalk
ng
orNMEA0183.
WhereappropriateusetheSystemSettingsmenutoenableor
disabletheinternalGPSreceiver.
EnablingordisablingtheinternalGPS
IfyourmultifunctiondisplayfeaturesaninternalGPSthenthiscan
beenabledanddisabledbyfollowingthestepsbelow.
Withthehomescreendisplayed:
1.SelectSet-Up.
2.SelectSystemSettings.
3.T oenabletheinternalGPS,selectInternalGPSsothatOnis
highlighted.
4.T odisabletheinternalGPS,selectInternalGPSsothatOff
ishighlighted.
Simulatormode
TheSimulatormodeenablesyoutopracticeoperatingyourdisplay
withoutdatafromaGPSantenna,radarscanner,AISunit,or
shnder.
Thesimulatormodeisswitchedon/offintheSystemSetupMenu.
Note:RaymarinerecommendsthatyoudoNOTusethe
simulatormodewhilstnavigating.
Note:ThesimulatorwillNOTdisplayanyrealdata,includingany
safetymessages(suchasthosereceivedfromAISunits).
