8.1Watchmodes
Watchmodemonitorsprioritychannelsandthe
currentlyselectedchannel.
Thereare2typesofwatchmode;Dualwatchand
TriplewatchorTriwatch.
•Dualwatch—Thismodemonitorspriority
channel16andthecurrentlyselectedchannel.
•TriplewatchorTriwatchThismodemonitors
prioritychannel16,thesecondprioritychannel
(Channel9(default))andthecurrentlyselected
channel.Thesecondprioritychannelcanalsobe
settoauserdenedchannel.
Whentheradiodetectsatransmission,Watchmode
issuspendeduntilthetransmissionends;watch
modewillthenrecommence.
Usingwatchmodes
FromtheWatchModemenu:Menu>WatchMode.
1.SelectDualWatchorTripleWatchasrequired.
TheradioisnowinWatchmode.
2.Select2ndprioritychanneltoselectadifferent
secondprioritychannelforTripleWatch.
3.DuringWatchmode,presstheBackbuttonat
anytimetoendtheWatchmodeandresume
normaloperation.
8.2ScanMode
Scanmodeenablesautomaticsearchingfor
channelsthatarecurrentlybroadcasting.
Scanmodewillsearchthroughavailablechannels
andstopwhenitndsachannelthatiscurrently
broadcasting.Ifthebroadcaststopsorislostfor
morethan5secondsthenthescanwillresume.
Channelscanbetemporarilyremovedfromanactive
scan,andthedirectionofscancanalsobechanged.
Whenthescanreachesthelastchannelintheband
thescancycleisrepeated.
Thefollowingscansoptionsareavailable:
•AllChannels—Allchannelsinthefrequency
bandtheradioissettoarescannedinsequence.
•AllChannels+16—Allchannelsinthefrequency
bandtheradioissettoarescanned,aftereach
channelisscannedprioritychannel16isscanned.
•SavedChannels—Onlychannelssavedtothe
radio’smemoryarescannedinsequence.
•SavedChannels+16—Onlychannelssaved
totheradio’smemoryarescanned,aftereach
channelisscannedprioritychannel16isscanned.
Note:Iftheweatheralertfunctionisactivated,the
weatheralertchannelisincludedinthescan.
Performingascan
Scanmodeisstartedfromthemainmenu.
FromtheScanModemenu:Menu>ScanMode.
1.SelecttherelevantScanmode.
TheradioisnowinScanmode.
2.SelectEditSavedChannelstoselectthe
channelsthatwillbescannedwhenperforming
aSavedchannelscan.
3.DuringScanmode,presstheBackbuttonatany
timetoendtheScanmodeandresumenormal
operation.
