Downloading HeatNet firmware
Firmware can be downloaded to the control through the USB port (J6)
on the HeatNet control board. You can use either a PC or a ash drive, as
explained below.
If power is lost (or cycled) while downloading from a ash
drive, the download will be corrupted. Should this happen,
the control can only be operated by using a PC and HeatNet
soware to download the rmware correctly.
Downloading firmware using a PC
Disconnect wires to the Heat Demand terminals and any other remote 1.
operation wiring. ere must be no call for heat during the process.
Record all setup information for the application before proceeding 2.
(use SETUP WORKSHEET, page 55).
Insert the Firmware Update Program disk (or download executable 3.
le) into the computer. e program will auto-start if on disk (manu-
ally execute the program if working from a le on the computer).
Follow the instructions as the program progresses. (If a separate option 4.
is provided to install USB drivers, do so before running the rmware
update program.)
Plug a USB cable into the control connection board, with the other 5.
connected to the computer. THE CABLE MUST BE CONNECTED
BEFORE STARTING THE FIRMWARE UPDATE PROGM.
Follow the program instructions for selecting the correct com port and 6.
rmware le.
Navigate to the HeatNet control ADVANCED SETUP menu, to “SYS-7.
TEM.
Move the cursor to “LOAD FIRMWARE.8.
NOTICE: e rmware must be downloaded now for the HeatNet 9.
control to function again.
Return to the computer. Follow the rmware program instructions to 10.
begin downloading the rmware to the HeatNet control.
If the download is interrupted or fails, turn the boiler ON/OFF switch 11.
OFF, then ON. Restart the rmware download program to start the
download. (e boiler will appear unresponsive during this time be-
cause it is waiting for the download to take place.)
When the download is complete, the boiler will power cycle. e dis-12.
play should show STANDBY.
If the rmware does not load correctly, the display will remain blank. 13.
Try running the rmware program again.
Check that the boiler performs properly.14.
Downloading firmware from a flash drive
Disconnect wires to the Heat Demand terminals and any other remote 1.

Create a directory in the root directory of the ash drive. Name the a.

Copy the rmware le to the ash drive under this directory.b.
Enter setup mode on HeatNet control:4.
Press and hold the BACK key for 5 seconds.a.
Navigate to ADVANCED SETUP / SYSTEM: LOAD FIRM-b.
WARE.
Select YES using the arrow keys.c.
Press the SELECT key to proceed.d.
Select YES when prompted, “ARE YOU SURE?”e.
When SOURCE is displayed, select USB DRIVE.f.

Aer SOURCE is selected, the HeatNet control will display RE-a.
MOVE USB CABLE.
Remove any cable connected to the USB port (J6) on the Heat-b.
Net control board.

Plug the ash drive into the USB port (J6).e.
Press the SELECT key.f.

Use the arrow keys to cycle through the les until the correct le i.

Once the le download is complete, the control will emit a series l.
of beeps to acknowledge the download is nished.

DO NOT interrupt power during this time or the rmware will n.
be corrupted. Should this happen, you will have to use a PC and
HeatNet soware to download the rmware.
