Proper Care and Storage
• Keep dust and grit from entering the
camcorder's cassette door, Dust and
grit are abrasive and cause excessive
wear to both the camcorder's
recording/playback heads and
cassettes.
• Always close the lens cover when the
camcorder is not in use,
• Before handling your camcorder, make
sure your hands and lace are free from
any chemical products such as suntan
lotion, as it might damage the finish,
• The camcorder might be damaged by
improper storage or handling. Do not
subject the camcorder to swinging,
shaking, or dropping,
• Do not store the camcorder in
temperatures below -22°F (-30°C) or
above 149°F (65°C),
• When the camcorder is not in use,
always remove the cassetle and AC
adapter/charger or batlery,
• Retain the original carton for future
storage or shipping purposes.
Things to Avoid
• Do not attempt to disassemble your •
camcordcr, There are no user-
serviceable parts inside.
• Avoid operating your camcorder
immediately after moving it from a
cold location to a warn1 location, Give
the camcorder 1-1/2 to 2 hours to reach
a stable temperature before inserting a
cassette, When the camcorder is
moved from cold to warm,
condensation might cause the tape to
stick to the headwheel and damage the
headwheel or tape.
• Do not aim your camcorder at the sun
or other bright objects. •
• Do not leave your camcorder in direct
sunlight for exlended periods of time.
The resulting heat buildup might
permanently damage the camcorder's
internal parts.
• Do not operale the camcorder in
extremely humid environments.
Do not operate the camcorder nearthe
ocean as saltwater or saltwater spray
might damage the internal parts of the
camcorde_
Do not operate the camcorder for
exlended periods in temperatures
below 40°F (4°C) or above 95°F
(35°C),
Do not expose the camcorder or
adapter/charger to rain or moislure.
if any component becomes wet, turn
offthe power and take the unit to an
Authorized RCA Camcorder
Service Center,
Do not use an adapter/charger or
balteries other than the ones specified
for the camcorder, Use of the wrong
accessories might cause damage to the
camcorder,
