Zooming
Using the Zoom Buttons (Wand 7)

Optical zooming is the' namraI non _,nhanced magnification that the" cal_acord_,r s h'ns will
support. Optical zooming is possibI_" up to t_'n tim_s when recording on tap_ _ and up to
s_'v_'n tim_s wh_'n rocording on the m_q_ory card.
Digital zooming mak_,s it possibt_" to capture" il_aag_,s up to a maximtma of 400 tim_,s
normal magnification. The camcorder uses technology to artificially enhance the image.
When using the zoom buttons an icon appears on screen to display the approximate
zoom ratio.
Notes:
While zooming, focusing may become unstable. If so, set the zoom while in
Record-Standby mode and adjust the image using manual focus (see page 98)
Once the focus is set, zoom the camcorder in or out while recording,
The zoom level icon moves during zoom. Once it reaches the end of the zoom
icon bar, all magnification from that point is through digital processing.

Press the zoom button harder to increase the
zoom speed or softer to decrease the speed.
