Using Mode and Menu Screens For Advanced
Adjustments
During recording, tt_e type of Mode and Menu screens that appear depend on the setting
of the DSC MODE and EASYiMANUALiAI;PO switch (¸see pag_s,_ff3 7). The Mode
screens appear automatically. The menu screens can be used to adjust many of the
advanced se_ings of the camcorder.

1. Open the LCI) monitor and adjust.
2. Press in the Lock button and set the POWER
switdl to CAMERA or PLAY_
3. Press the MENUiI)ISPLAY button repeatedly to
display the menu screen.
Note: When playing a tape, the Menu screen
appears after the POWER switch is set to
PLAY (go to step 4)
4. Press or to select the desired menu Jnd
then press SETto displ_y the features of the
selected menu.
5. Press or to select the desired menu item,
and press NET ['he available settings for the
selected menu item are displayed.
6. Press or to select the desired menu
setting, and press 5"lx7:
The selected menu setting is set.
7. 'Ik) adjust another menu item, press or to
select I?I_T!/]?N and press Sl_Tuntil the
camcorder returns to the stalls in step 5 or 6,
and then repeat the procedure from that point.
Notes."
Certain menu items are common among the camcorder mode_ /f the DISPLAY
menu item, for example, is set to DA_+T/ME in the _PE-PLAY mode, it will be
automatically set to DA_+ _ME in other modes,
The menu items are displayed in yellow when the corresponding functions are
selected, The menu items are d_/ayed in gray when the corresponding
functions cannot be selectecL
The CONTROL dial can a/so be used to operate the Mode and Menu screens.
Rotate the dial to select an item and press it in to set the item.
The menu screen automatically turns off if no settings are made within five
minute_
