Recording from the GUIDE Plus+ on-screen programming guide
You can schedule recordings from the GUIDE P_us+on-screen programming guide (not
available for satellite programming).
I. If the program guide isn't on the TV, press the GUIDE button on the remote control
(the listings guide appears).
2. Use the remote control's arrow button to highlight the program you want to record.
3. Press the 3 button on the remote.
Note:The 3 button correspondsto the GUIDE Plus+ System'saction buttons and saysrecord next to it.
DON'T press the RECORDbutton.
4. TO change the frequency of the recording (one time, regularly, weekly, etc.), ge to the
GUIDE Plus+ Schedule menu (see page 32 for more thfo).
Note:If the recordingyou set up through the GUIDEPlus+ system conflictswith a timer recording that
you set up via the DVD RecordergRecord;rigmenu, the Timer reco_ng you set up in the DVD
Recorder'sTJmersmenu system _11be recorded instead of the one you scheduledthrough the GUIDE
Plus+ system.
Setting up timer recordings to record programs automatically

From the DVD Recorder's main menu, use the remote's arrow buttons to
highlight Timers, and press the OK button.
If necessary,highlight AddTimer,and press OK (the Timer Setup screen
appears).
If you want to give the Timer a name, highlight Name and press the INFO but-
ton (the on-screen keyboard appears -- follow the on-screen instructions to
name the timer).When finished entering the name, make sure you press the
right arrow button to highlight Done and press OK (highlight moves to
Channel).
Highlight the Channelfieldand use the number buttons on the remote to
enter the channel number,and pressOK (highlight moves to Day).
To enter aVideo Input Channel, press the right arrow button.
Use the number buttons to enter month and day.To change the frequency
(once, daily, weekly, etc.), press the right arrow button.When finished, press
OK (highlight moves to StartTime).
Use the number buttons to enter the time you want to start recording. Press
the right arrow button to change the a.m./_m, setting.When finished, press
OK (the highlight moves to Stop Time).
Use the number buttons to enter the time you want the DVD Recorder to
stop recording. Press the right arrow button to change a.m./_xm, setting.
You can changethe quality of the recording by pressingthe right arrow
button.The better the quality, the more spacethe recording takes up on the
disc-- less recording time available(go to page44 for more information).
Press OK to confirm the quality recording setting.
9. When you're finished, make sure Keep Timer is highlighted and press OK.
Notes:The DVD Recorder's clock must be set in order for Timer Recordings to work properly. For more
informaSon about the One-Touch Record feature available _a the GUIDE Plus+ System's Schedule
menu, go to page 32.
Conflicting Timers
If you schedule Timer Recordings tha_ overlap, an icon will appear in the list of scheduled Timer Recordings. If a conflict exists, the recording with the
earlier starting time takes place.When it ends, the next recording would start, provided there is dine left.
If you have set up two Timer Recordings for the same dine, the one with the lower frequency would be recorded. For example, if one Timer Recording
was scheduled to record Weekly and the other was scheduled to record Once, the Timer Recording with Once would be recorded.
