To set Ratings:
I. FromtheDVDRecorder'smainmenu, se_ectSetupandpressOK(theSgsupmenu
items appear).
2. SinceParentalControfisalreadyhighlighted, iustpressOK(theParentalControfmenu
items appear).
3. Highlight RaN Limitsand press OK (the 8devel rating list appears).
4. Use the up and down arrow buttons tO move the bar to the rating level you find
acceptab{e.
Ratings that don't requi_e a password (free access) appear under the ban
R_tings that require a password appear above the bar.
S. Press OK.
Note:Youmust lock the player(page47) inorder for the ratingsto be enforced.
UnratedTides
Some discs contain tides (or movies) that don't have a r_ting assigned to them.
Sometimes, movies you might find the most explicit are unrated. However, much of the
new programming on a discs, such as interviews widl actors and directors, is also
unrated.Additionally, the discs you use to record (DVD+R and DVD+RW) are considered
unrateth
{n order to p_event unrated titles from being played,you need to choose Password
Required from the Unrated Titles menu, and lock the playel_
System Options:
Contains settings and menus for audio features, as wel_ asb_acklevel settings and dimmer options for the front display of your DVD Recorder.
Digito/Output= {f you connected your DVD Recorder to a receiver via the DIG{TAL AUD{O OUT jack (COAX{AL or OPTICAL)
on the back of the p_ayer,choose the type of receiver (or decoder) you have: Dolby Digital and/or DTS.
Note: If you select DTS,and you don't have a DTS receiver connected to _e DVD Recorder you won't hear any audio or _e a_tho will be
distorted.
SRSITruSurround: TheTruSurround® feature simulates a six-speaker listening experience through iust two speakers.The default
setting is O/_ To turn on the Virtua{ Surround® feature highlight SRS/TruSurround,and press OK. Highlight On and press the OK
button.
Black level: Adjusts how bright the picture appears. Choose between Dark and bgbt. Use the arrow buttons to highlight a choice
and the OK button to setect the choice that's highlighted.
Display Dimmer: Adiusts the brightness of the disp{ay on the front of the DVD Recorde_: Use the arrow buttons to highlight a set-
ting, and the OK button to se{ect the option that's highlighted.The choices follow:Automatic (the disp{ay automatically dims during
ptayback); Bright; Dim.
Audio Broadcast." Default setting for type of audio recorded and played. Choices are Stereo, Mono, SAP (Second Audio Program).
