AC POWER OPERATION Plug one end of the AC lice cord into the AC Input Jack on the left side of the cabinet,and the oppoelte end into 120-vott AC householdoutlet. Plugging the AC lice cord into the set automatically disconnects the batteries. The polarized AC line plug (one blade is wider) is a safety feature. The plug fds into the power outlet only one way.
1. Slide FUNCTION switch to RADIO. • The Power "ON" indicator will light. 2. Set BAND Switch to desired broadcast band AM or FM. 3. Use TUNING knob to select a station. 4. Adjust VOLUME control to your listening preference. 5. To tum the radio off, slide FUNCTION switch to TAPE (Radio Off). When tuned to FM, stations broadcastingin stereo will be heard in stereo and those broadcasting in mona will be heard in mona. AM Antenna - The AM antenna, built into the unit, is somewhat directional.
DISC up disc play (fast forward).The disc materialwill be audible, allowing you to scan for a favoritesegment or skip a segment. Release the button and normal PLAY resumes. PLAY 1. After the disc is installed and the compartment door closed, the disc will begin to spin and the player will scan the table of contents encoded in the lead-in portion of the disc. • Duringthis time, *cd" willflash in the display. 2. After the table of contents are read, the disc will stop spinning.
AUTOMATIC 4. Press the PLAY button. 5. Adjust VOLUME control to your preferred listening level. 6. Switch BASS BOOST end/or SIMULATED SURROUND SOUND "ON" if desired. The unit automaticallyreturnsto STOP mode when the end of the tape is reached. To stop play beforethe end of the tape is reached, press STOP/EJECT button. STOP When your recorder is operating in the PLAY or RECORD mode end the end of the tape is reached, yOur unitwill automaticallyshut itselfoff and return the buttons to their off position.
SELECTED RECORDING If you wish to record a particularselectiononlyfrom the compact disc, follow steps I through 3 above and: 1. Pressthe PLAY/PAUSEbutton on the CD Play_, then, press the PLAY/PAUSE button again to place the CD Player in the PAUSE mode. 2. PressSKIP FORWARD/REVERSE button until the Track number for the desired selection appears in the display. 3. Pressthe RECORDbutton on the Tape Recorder, and then the PLAY/PAUSE button on the CD player.
• • TAPE CARE Do not use cleaners or antistatic sprays on discs, such as those used on conventional analog phonograph records. Discsrotate at high speeds insidethe playe_. Do not use damaged (c_or warped) discs. CLEANING Do not expose your cassettes to direct sunlight or store them in hot places. High temperatures may warp the cassette shell or damage the tape itself. Keep your cassettes in their boxes when they are not in the cassette player/recorder. This keeps dust from entering the cassette shells.
