Installing the Digital Voice Manager application 1. Connect the player to the computer as instructed in the previous section. 2. Windows: To access the RCA Digital Voice Manager installer, go to My Computer (XP users)/Go to Computer (Vista, 7 and 8 users) in the Start menu, find and open the drive letter associated with the player and then double-click rcaDVM7_setup.exe to launch the installer. Mac: When you connect your device to the computer, it will appear on the desktop as a volume labeled RCA_DVR.
ENGLISH Digital Voice Manager Overview Overview of Digital Voice Manager 6 1. Queue: The queue is a working space for files. You can load files onto the queue by double clicking on them in the local library. To perform any operation on a file (including listening to it), the file must be in the queue. 2. Menu bar: The menu bar contains the standard options tabs. It also contains the options tab where custom preferences can be set. 3.
4. Local library: All your audio files are stored. The RCA Digital Voice Manger imports all files from your device to this location. You can create new folders, rename existing folders and move files between folders. 5. Audio Toolbar: Contains a set of easy to use controls that will allow you to perform basic operations on your files including listening and advanced audio enhancements. Note: A file has to be in the queue before you can use these controls. 6.
Folder Renaming If you change the folder name using Windows Explorer or Finder, the folder will no longer be recognized by the device. It is best to use only the DVM software for renaming folders. 17 ENGLISH By default the folders on your device are named FOLDER1 - FOLDER10. These folders can be renamed using the DVM software supplied with your device. To do so, simply launch DVM while your device is connected to the computer.

Front Controls – Starts and pauses recording. STOP – Stops recording or playback. Quits the sub menu and goes to the main menu. – While in stop mode, press to access the Settings menu. While in stop MENU mode, press and hold to display file information. FOLDERS – Selects folders. – Confirms a setting in the menu. Starts and pauses playback. + / - – Navigates up/down when navigating the setting menu.

Setting date and time With the date and time set, you can view the date and time of your recordings. Normal recording is still possible without setting the date and time. However, no correct recording date and time can be referenced in your recorded messages. To set the date and time 1. While in stop mode, press MENU to access the Settings menu. / or + / - to select DATE+TIME and press to confirm 2. Press selection. 3.
Accessing Recorded File Information Recording 1. While in stop mode, press REC•PAUSE to start recording. The red recording indicator will illuminate. Recording time will be displayed once you begin recording. 2. To pause recording, press REC•PAUSE once. The red recording indicator will be flashing. Press again to resume recording. 3. To stop recording, press STOP . AVR (Automatic Voice Recording) This feature allows the player to sense sound and to record only when you are speaking into the microphone.
Setting recording quality Definition: • LP (Long Play) – allows up to 800 hours recording. • SP (Standard Play) – allows up to 280 hours recording. • HQ (High Quality) – allows up to 140 hours recording. Refer to Settings section for instructions on how to select recording quality. Setting recording mode Definition: • CONF (Conference) – Use in a more open area where recording source is far from the player. • DICT (Dictation) – Use when recording source is close to the recorder.
1. 2. 3. • • 4. ENGLISH Deleting files Select the file to be deleted. While in stop mode, press ERASE. / or + / - to select one of the deleting options: Press Delete the currently selected file. Delete all files in the current folder (ALL FILES). to confirm deletion, or STOP to cancel. Press Bookmarks To create bookmarks 1. During playback, press REC•PAUSE . 2. Press / or + / - to select BOOKMARK and press to create a bookmark. You can create up to 29 bookmarks in a file.
Insert To insert a new segment into the current file 1. During playback, press REC•PAUSE . 2. Press / or + / - to select INSERT and press to start recording. The newly recorded segment will be inserted from this point. 3. Press STOP to stop the recording of new segment. Append To add to an existing recording The append function provides an easy way to edit a file when you are recording a list (e.g. a grocery shopping list). This enables you to add items to the end of a file.
To format the memory of the player 1. Select Format in the Settings menu. Refer to the Settings section for details. 2. ENGLISH Troubleshooting tips Player doesn’t turn on • Check that batteries are properly inserted and not exhausted. • Make sure the battery compartment door is properly closed. Can not record • Make sure the LOCK function is not activated. • Make sure memory is not full. • You have recorded 200 files in one folder. Try to record in a new folder. Incorrect recording date and time during playback • You may not have set the date and time before recording. Refer to the Setting date and time section.
