Valve
Venturi
1. Remove the grates and burner covers to expose the stainless steel burners. Remove the
exisng burner where you intend to place the IR burner toward the back of the grill. On the
RJC style grill, simply unscrew the Phillips style screw on the rear of the burner and carefully
li out the burner towards the rear of the grill to remove. ( on RJC style grills you must
remove the cross over bracket in rear by removing two screws).
2. Place the IR burner in the same posion as the burner was once in. On RJC grills there is
a mount with a hole, simply place the tab on the IR burner in the posion where the burner
mount once was. It will locate on it’s own.
3. Make sure the new IR burner is lined up on the valve correctly. The valve stem should be
posioned inside the burner venturi about 1/4” to 1/2”. ( see diagram below).
4. To start the IR burner, slowly turn the valve to create gas ow, then hold for 5 seconds
before the ignion click. Connue turning to acvate spark and piezzo ame thrower. Hold
for 3 seconds to insure ignion.
5. IR burner should turn bright orange and emit about 1400 to 1600 degrees F infrared heat.
6. Be sure to ALWAYS KEEP HOOD OPEN when using IR burner and ONLY use on High Seng.
