13.0 KEYPAD CONTROL
The drive can be operated in a number of different ways: keypad (LOCAL), control devices
wired to the terminal strip (REMOTE), serial communications (SERIAL), or combinations of
each. The drive should first be operated from the keypad during initial start-up. Refer to
Sections 14.0 - CONTROL WIRING, and 18.0 - DESCRIPTION OF PARAMETERS for
information on remote operation.
13.1 KEYPAD FUNCTIONS
START/STOP To start the drive, press the START key. To stop the drive,
press the STOP key.
NOTE 1: A jumper may need to be installed between TB-1
and TB-2 in order to START the drive in LOCAL mode (refer
to Parameter 30 - CONTROL).
NOTE 2: The STOP key is active in both LOCAL and
REMOTE modes.
SPEED SETPOINT To increase the speed setpoint, press the V key. To decrease
the speed setpoint, press the W key.
NOTE: The V and W keys are only active if another speed
reference source is not selected.
LOCAL/REMOTE To toggle between LOCAL and REMOTE mode, press the
LOCAL/REMOTE key to select the desired mode, and then
press the ENTER key within three seconds to confirm the
change.
NOTE: Parameter 30 - CONTROL must be set to KEYPAD
or KEYPAD 2 for this key to be active.
AUTO/MANUAL To toggle between AUTOMATIC (terminal strip) and
MANUAL (keypad) speed control, press the AUTO/MAN key
to select the desired mode, and then press the ENTER key
within three seconds to confirm the change.
NOTE: Parameter 28 - AUTO/MAN must be set to A/M LOC
or A/M SPD for this key to be active. See Section 14.0 -
CONTROL WIRING for information on automatic speed
reference sources.
