5-10. Adding Coolant To Radiator

! Stop engine and let cool.
 Check coolant level according
to Section 5-9 before starting
this procedure.
Engine coolant is a mixture of water
and ethylene glycol base anti-
freeze. A solution of 50% antifreeze
and 50% water must be used in this
engine. Do not use 100% antifreeze
or severe damage will occur.
If coolant level is below bottom of
radiator filler neck, add coolant as
follows:
1 Radiator Air Bleed Screw
2 Radiator Cap
Remove air bleed screw. Add cool-
ant to radiator until coolant is at bot-
tom of filler neck. This ensures all
air is purged from the system.
Reinstall air bleed screw and radia-
tor cap. Check coolant level in re-
covery tank (see Section 5-9).
