5.9.2 TDM Config - General Settings
The TDM General Configuration fields are in the main TDM System Configuration
screen. The TDM General Settings apply to all TDM ports.
Figure 25: TDM General Configuration Settings
Line Type: Select the type of the serial port interface.
E1 Line: TDM port interface is E1.
T1 Line: TDM port interface is T1.
Clock: Set the TDM clocking mode for the TDM module. All TDM ports use the
same clock for transmitting and receiving.
In a typical link deployment, the AN-30e located closest to a master clock is set for
Rx Loop, while the remote-end is set to adaptive clocking.
Rx Loop: Select Rx Loop mode at the network (master clock) end of the wireless
link. Only one AN-30e system should be set to Rx Loop mode.
In Rx Loop mode the AN-30e reference clock is derived from the receive signal
of an active TDM port (see Sync On field). All TDM ports use this clock for
transmission and reception.
If there is no signal on the specified TDM port, then all ports default to using the
internal AN-30e reference clock.
Adaptive: Select adaptive mode at the remote-end (CPE end) of the link.
In adaptive mode the AN-30e clock begins with a default clock speed and then
continuously modifies the clock signal (adapting +/-) based on the jitter buffer
level for the E1 port specified in the Sync On field.
Internal: The AN-30e internal clock is used as the TDM clock.
This setting is not recommended for in-service applications.
Sync On: Select the TDM port to use for clock synchronization. The effect of this
setting is dependent on the clock setting (above):
If Rx Loop Mode is selected the AN-30e clock is derived from the receive signal on
an active TDM port. At least one active bundle must be assigned to the selected port.
