TDM signals are transported by sampling the TDM port signals, and encapsulating
the timeslot data in Ethernet packets. The AN-30e supports up to eight separate
packet streams, each grouping from one to thirty-two consecutive timeslots. Each
bundle may be assigned to a separate destination IP address.
If Fractional E1 is used, multiple bundles can be defined for a single port. This
feature allows multiple fractional channels from one AN-30e system to be combined
on a single port of a network-connected AN-30e system.
Restrictions:
- Maximum of eight bundles for the terminal.
- Bundle definitions cannot span serial ports.
- Fractional bundle definitions on the same serial port must not overlap.
- You must specify the framing format for fractional bundles. The framing
information is required to extract the timeslot data.
- Multiple fractional bundle definitions on the same serial port must not have the
same destination port. Each bundle must specify a unique port at each termination
point.
- Signaling is not monitored by the AN-30e system. If signaling is required for
fractional E1, the signaling timeslot must be included in the bundle.
Viewing and modifying the TDM bundle settings is a three-step operation:
1. Select a TDM bundle to view or change and click Config.
2. View and modify the bundle settings in the Configure Port screen.
3. Click Send in the Configure Bundle screen.
To make these changes permanent you must also click Save in the TDM General
Configuration screen.
Step 1. Select a Bundle
Use the drop-down menu to select a TDM bundle. Click Add to create a new
definition or click Config to change an exiting bundle definition.
Step 2. Edit Port Settings
These settings apply only to the bundle selected by the Bundle ID drop-down
selection in the TDM System Configuration screen.
