Always remove the key, press the power switch into the off position (see the drawing on page 5 for the location of the power switch), and unplug the power cord when the treadmill is not in use. 25. PART IDENTIFICATION CHART Use the drawings below to identify small parts used for assembly. The number in parentheses below each drawing is the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity used for assembly. Note: If a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see if it is preattached. Extra hardware may be included.
ASSEMBLY • Assembly requires two persons. • Assembly requires the following tools: • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until you finish all assembly steps. the included hex keys • After shipping, there may be an oily substance on the exterior of the treadmill. This is normal. If there is an oily substance on the treadmill, wipe it off with a soft cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
2. Identify the Left Upright (75), which is marked "Left." Have a second person hold the Left Upright near the Base (80). 2 75 Wire Tie 70 See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright (75) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (70). Then, insert the Upright Wire into the lower end of the Left Upright as you pull the other end of the wire tie out of the upper end of the Left Upright. Wire Tie 70 75 80 3. Hold the Left Upright (75) against the Base (80).
4. Identify the Left and Right Base Covers (73, 74), which are marked either “Left” and “Right” or “L” and “R.” Slide the Left and Right Base Covers onto the Left and Right Uprights (75, 76) as shown. 4 Remove the wire tie from the Upright Wire (70). 76 70 74 Wire Tie 75 73 5. Identify the left handrail assembly (A), which is marked “Left.” If there is a wire in the left Handrail (71), remove and discard it. 5 10 70 Hold the left handrail assembly (A) near the Left Upright (75).
6. Set the Console Base (83) face down on a soft surface to avoid scratching the Console Base. 4 6 7 Remove the two screws (C) from the Pulse Crossbar (31). Remove the Pulse Crossbar and discard the screws. 87 83 Remove the four 5/16" x 5/8" Screws (7) from the Console Frame (87). The Screws will be used in a later step. C 7 31 7. Identify the Left and Right Trays (92, 93), which are marked “Left” and “Right.
8. IMPORTANT: To avoid damaging the Pulse Crossbar (31), do not use power tools and do not overtighten the #10 x 3/4" Screws (13). 8 13 71 Orient the Pulse Crossbar (31) as shown. Attach the Pulse Crossbar to the Handrails (71) with four #10 x 3/4" Screws (13) and four #10 Star Washers (11). Start all four Screws, and then tighten them. 11 31 Make sure that the Upright Wire (70) is not pinched. Firmly tighten the four 5/16" x 2 3/4" Screws (10). 10 13 70 11 71 10 9.
10. Set the console assembly on the Handrails (71). Make sure that no wires are pinched. Insert the excess Upright Wire (70) behind the Console Frame (87). 10 Console Assembly 87 Attach the console assembly to the brackets on the Handrails (71) with the four 5/16" x 5/8" Screws (7) that you removed in step 6. Do not tighten the Screws yet. 70 71 71 7 7 11. Attach the Pulse Crossbar (31) to the console assembly with six #8 x 1/2" Screws (9). Start all six Screws, and then tighten them.
. Raise the Frame (49) to the position shown. Have a second person hold the Frame until this step is completed. 13 49 Orient the Storage Latch (51) so that the large barrel and the latch knob are oriented as shown. Attach the lower end of the Storage Latch (51) to the Base (80) with a 3/8" x 2" Bolt (12) and a 3/8" Nut (3). 3 12 Attach the upper end of the Storage Latch (51) to the Frame (49) with a 3/8" x 2" Bolt (12) and a 3/8" Nut (3). 51 Latch Knob Large Barrel 3 12 80 14.
OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT HOW TO CONNECT THE POWER CORD nominal 120-volt circuit capable of carrying 15 or more amps. To avoid overloading the circuit, do not plug other electrical devices, except for lowpower devices such as cell phone chargers, into the surge suppressor or into an outlet on the same circuit. IMPORTANT: The treadmill is not compatible with GFCI-equipped outlets and may not be compatible with AFCI-equipped outlets.
CONSOLE DIAGRAM FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE You can even listen to your favorite workout music or audio books with the console’s stereo sound system while you exercise. The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effective and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button. As you exercise, the console will display instant exercise feedback.
HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before you turn on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components. 1. Insert the key into the console. Plug in the power cord (see page 14). Next, locate the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Press the power switch into the reset position.
5. Follow your progress with the displays. To measure your heart rate, stand on the foot rails and hold the pulse bar with your palms on the contacts; Contacts avoid moving your hands. When your pulse is detected, several dashes will appear and then your heart rate will be shown. For the most accurate heart rate reading, continue to hold the contacts for about 15 seconds. The matrix—When you select the manual mode, the matrix will display a track that represents 1/4 mile (400 m).
HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT The workout will continue in this way until the last segment of the profile flashes in the display and the last segment ends. The walking belt will then slow to a stop. 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 16.

HOW TO USE AN IFIT WORKOUT the button, the treadmill will automatically adjust to the first speed and incline settings of the workout. Hold the handrails and begin walking. THE INFORMATION MODE An “E” for English miles or an “M” for metric kilometers will appear in the right display. Press the Speed increase button to change the unit of measurement if desired. The console features an information mode that keeps track of the total distance that the walking belt has moved and the total number of hours that the treadmill has been used. The information mode also allows you to select miles or kilometers to measure distance, and to turn on and turn off the display demo mode.

Then, remove the key and unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill. efore moving the treadmill, fold it as described at the B left. CAUTION: Make sure that the latch knob is locked in the storage position.
TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual. c. Remove the key from the console, and then reinsert it. d. Lower the treadmill. Next, remove the three indicated #8 x 3/4" Screws (6). Carefully slide the Motor Hood (57) off. 57 begin calibrating, press the Stop button again, and then press the Incline increase or decrease button again. When the incline is calibrated, remove the key from the console. SYMPTOM: The walking belt slows when walked on 6 6 a. Use only a surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 14. b.
SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on b. If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both idler roller screws clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. (5 to 7 cm) off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered.
EXERCISE GUIDELINES Burning Fat—To burn fat effectively, you must exercise at a low intensity level for a sustained period of time. During the first few minutes of exercise, your body uses carbohydrate calories for energy. Only after the first few minutes of exercise does your body begin to use stored fat calories for energy. If your goal is to burn fat, adjust the intensity of your exercise until your heart rate is near the lowest number in your training zone.
