h) Attaching and Fastening the Car Body
Fold the car body closed and guide the aerial tube through the corresponding opening from the bottom of the car body.
Fasten the car body at the chassis with the two safety clips (see chapter 8. a).
i) Check Range of the Remote Control
Inordernottolosecontroloveryourmodelyoushould,beforeeveryrststartorafteracrash,checkthefunctionand
rangeoftheRCsystem.Fortherangetest,itissufcienttocheckthesteeringservofunction.Youmayalsoswitch
the LEDs of the vehicle on/off (via channel 3 of the transmitter).
Only perform the range test without the engine running!
Proceed as follows:
• Putsomethingunderthevehiclesothatthewheelsofthefrontaxlearesuspendedfreelyintheair.
Due to the vehicle weight and the good adhesion of the tyres, the wheels of the front axle would not move
withthevehiclestandingifyouchangethesteeringdeectionontheremotecontrol.
The steering servo is also overloaded.
• Firstswitchonthetransmitterandthenthereceiverpowersupply.
• Moveapprox.50mawayfromthemodel.
• Movethesteeringwheelatthetransmittertotheright.Nowthewheelsmustturntowardstheright.
• Movethesteeringwheeltotheleft.Thewheelsmustdeecttotheleft.
• Releasethesteeringwheel.Thewheelsmustreturntothemiddleposition.
Never drive the model with a defective remote control!
Beforedriving,ndtheerrorifthereactionsofthesteeringservotothecontrolcommandsatthetransmitter
are not as described in the range test. For example, check the condition of the transmitter and receiver
power supply (voltage of the rechargeable batteries/batteries) and positioning of the aerial in the vehicle.
The largest range results if the aerials at the transmitter and vehicle are in parallel to each other (aerial at
the transmitter and the vehicle are each vertical).
The lowest range results if the two aerials are perpendicular to each other (e.g. when pointing the tip of the
transmitter aerial at the vehicle).
