9. Commissioning
a) Remove Car Body
Pull the safety clips out and take off the car body upwards.
b) Installing the Receiver Aerial Cable
Route the aerial cable through the enclosed aerial tube
and plug it into the corresponding holder between the
chassisandtheservo/receiver;seearrowinthegureon
the right.
For a wide range, the aerial needs to protrude from the
vehicle as vertically as possible.
Ensure that the aerial cable is not damaged.
Never shorten the aerial cable! Never coil the
aerial cable! This greatly reduces the range!
c) Conguring the Speed Controller
The speed controller has two jumpers to congure the
driving function and the rechargeable battery type.
Jumper "Reverse" (A): This switches reverse driving off
("Disable") or on ("Enable").
Jumper "Battery" (B): Sets what sort of drive battery is
connectedtothespeedcontroller(LiPoorNiMH).
Important!
Ifyouuse aLiPodrive batterybutset there-
chargeablebatterytypetoNiMH,therecharge-
able battery will be deep discharged and de-
stroyed.
Therefore, always set the proper rechargeable
battery type before operating the vehicle.
Thesetting"Lipo"causesthespeedcontrollertoreduce
the motor power to 50% when the battery voltage drops
below 6.5 V.
The speed controller switches off the motor below a bat-
teryvoltageof6.0V.Thisway,theLiPodrivebatteryis
protected from harmful deep discharge.
Forthesetting"NiMH",themotoroutputwillbereducedatarechargeablebatteryvoltageoflessthan4.5V;themotor
will be switched off if the battery voltage drops to under 4.0 V.
