c) Programming of the Neutral Position for Pistol Grip Transmitters
Pistolgriptransmittersarecontrolledwithrstngerandathrottleleverforspeedcontrol(seegure5intheseoperat-
inginstructions).Theadjustmentpathfor"forward"(pulllevertothegrip)isusuallyalittlelargerthantheadjustment
pathfor"reverse"(pushleverawayfromthegrip).
If the lever is not operated, this is the neutral position in which the motor should be switched off. Reverse driving is
possible with the corresponding programming of the speed controller.
Proceed as follows to programme the neutral position:
• Switchonthetransmitter.Pullthethrottleleverintothefullthrottlepositionandholditthere.
• Connectthedrivebatterytothespeedcontroller(thethrottleleverisstillinthefullthrottleposition).Twoshortsignal
sounds are emitted after approx. two seconds. The full throttle position was recognised.
• Releasethethrottleleveratonceafterthesoundsignal,sothatitisinitsneutralposition.Asinglesignalsoundis
emitted that signals successful programming of the neutral position. You may disconnect the driving battery from the
speed controller again now or start to drive.
d) Programming of the Neutral Position for Panel Transmitters
Panel transmitters usually have one or two lever units for controlling models. The lever units usually neutralise the
control paths by spring force. Sometimes, the springs are removed in the transmitters in the control function for "throt-
tle" to reach a non-neutralising conduct of the control lever.
If you have a transmitter with a self-neutralising throttle-control lever, programme the neutral position as described
above in chapter 11. c). Reverse driving is possible here as well with the corresponding programming of the speed
controller.Iftheversionwithnon-neutralisingthrottlecontrollever(motoroff=throttleleverattherearstop;fullthrottle
= throttle lever at the front stop) is desired, you need to programme the neutral position as follows:
• Switchonthetransmitter.Pullthethrottleleverintothe"fullthrottleforward"positionandholditthere.
• Connectthedrivebatterytothespeedcontroller(thethrottleleverisstillinthefullthrottleposition).Twoshortsignal
sounds are emitted after approx. two seconds. The full throttle position was recognised.
• Movethethrottleleverintotheposition"nothrottle"immediatelyafterthesoundsequence(pullthethrottleleverall
the way back). A single signal sounds is emitted that signals successful programming of the neutral position at the
bottom end of the throttle lever. You may disconnect the driving battery from the speed controller again now or start
to drive. Reverse driving is not possible with this programming.
